Dear Robyn and Les,
On behalf of the International Polocrosse Council we would like to present to both you and members of the Warwick Polocrosse Club the enclosed plaque in appreciation of your outstanding contribution to the success of the 2007 Polocrosse World Cup. To paraphrase Juan Antonio Samaranche’s comments about the Sydney Olympics, it was the best World Cup ever!
Thank you to The Warwick Club and Robin & Les Fraser Organising any event involving significant numbers of overseas countries is never easy. Not only are there wide disparities of views to be accommodated, but there are also cultural differences that can assume great importance. Your combined contribution to the success of the World Cup reflected your capacity to deal with all of these issues and to keep things on an even keel for an extended period of time.
The Affiliate members of the IPC have asked me to convey their gratitude for a job well done and to express their appreciation to your army of willing volunteer helpers. Nowhere was this more evident than in the arrangements for the “Breakfast with the Stars†when a huge marquee was erected overnight and had disappeared by the following afternoon.
The assistance offered to our visitors was consistent, unstinting and of the highest order. Your logistical capabilities not only in organising the program of events and peripheral activities, but ensuring that our visitors were well fed and watered are testament to these skills.
The comments we received from participants and observers concerning the flawless organisation from the opening until the closing ceremony also attest to the superb organisation of the World Cup. Congratulations to you both.
Kindest regards,
Odette Neumann
