Take a determined and dedicated committee, short on funds but big on business nous, throw in a heap of volunteers and you could come up with one of the most successful international sporting events run in Australia — the world cup — but not of any football variety. The Polocrosse World Cup, held in May in Warwick, Queensland, put the sport on the world stage and attracted a new audience according to one of the main organisers, Les Fraser. Continue reading »
