Bomber Nel started playing polocrosse at the age of 9 at Umvuma Club in Rhodesia.
During the 70’s in Rhodesia he played for Queens Polocrosse club and as a result of the shortage of equestrian equipment available in the country he started making a variety of saddlery items and eventually supplied the Greys Scouts Mounted unit of the Rhodesian Army with Maclenan saddles.
He then moved with his young family to Pietermaritzburg in South Africa and in 1979 he began making polocrosse racquets to suit special requirements. This hobby has gradually grown to become Bombers Equestrian Equipment where Bomber sources materials and products, and designs custom-made equipment to meet demand.
Bombers equipment is made under his personal supervision and only items which pass his strict quality control reach the market-place.

Curtis, world leaders in the innovation and design of high quality Polocrosse Racquets, have now made it easier for you to access their products.
Browse and shop online for your Polocrosse racquets (laminated, full cane, split cane, plastic and graphite heads), Polocrosse Balls and other products.
The Curtis name has been synonymous with quality since Eddie Curtis produced his first polocrosse racquet over 50 years ago.
As the game has changed over the years, Curtis has remained at the forefront with innovations such as the first cane (or wicker) racquet and the first adjustable net. Both these inventions have had a profound influence on the game and have done perhaps more to advance the game, to the current level, than any other single event.

The game of Polocrosse has changed from the first days when rackets were made from restrung tennis rackets and a shallow net requiring the game to be played much like an egg and spoon race. The invention of the rattan cane racket with adjustable net and deep pocket allowed the ball control and the style of game we play today. The Midas racket is the latest innovation, using modern materials available today. the injection molded head is lighter, yet rugged and always maintains its shape. the woven cord net plays equally well wet as dry and the extra long handle features a quality custom grip for better control. Other Polocrosse Equipment has changed as well:
